Maisie, the founder of Close to the Heart, a babywearing education service started her journey after realizing the challenges of babywearing without hands-on support. Inspired by her own experience as a new mom, she became a certified babywearing educator to offer in-person consultations, classes, and a growing collection of baby carriers. Close to the Heart provides hands-on support, helping parents feel confident and supported in learning how to wear their newborns. Young Birth Support
I became a doula in 2018 after the births of my first two children, which sparked a deep passion for supporting families through pregnancy and birth. What began as providing birth support has grown to include continuing education and my work as a childbirth educator and 4th Trimester Fitness Method Instructor, with every client now receiving 4TFM classes as part of their birth support package. My greatest desire is for clients to feel heard, supported, and cared for as they welcome their baby (babies) earth side.

We are Knoxville's largest provider of pelvic floor therapy services. We have been a resource for the birthing community for a decade now, and during that time have expanded our access to four locations offering pelvic floor therapy across the Knoxville area. I’ve seen so many parents walk into birth and postpartum feeling unsure or overwhelmed, and my goal is to help them slow down, understand their options, and feel like a team as they welcome their baby. I am a dual-certified IBCLC and Speech-Language Pathologist with a longstanding clinical focus on feeding and swallowing disorders. After becoming a mother, I recognized the powerful intersection between oral function and lactation and founded The Lactation Co. to bridge that gap for families. By combining evidence-based lactation support with specialized expertise in infant feeding and oral motor function, I help parents confidently overcome challenges and build a strong foundation for their baby’s growth and development.
